Veto Pro Pac Tool Bags Product Care and Maintenance

Keep the Zippers Clean & Lubricated

Over time, dirt and grit will “clog” the zipper coils preventing them from staying closed. To keep this from happening, clean and lubricate your zippers twice a year (more often if you work on a job site with a high amount of airborne debris). To clean the coils: Scrub them with soapy water; a tooth brush works very well. After scrubbing the coils, blow them out with an air hose to dislodge any other fine grit that didn’t dislodge with the brush. To lubricate the coils: Apply a silicone spray, beeswax or a zipper lubricant.

Protect the Zippers From Sharp Objects and/or Excessive Heat

Any sharp object or heat source is capable of permanently damaging the zippers. Once a zipper coil is cut or singed the zipper will not function and in most cases is not repairable. Most of the cut zipper coils we see are the result of sharp tools stored inside the bag with the sharp side facing up. Make sure to keep the sharp edges of your tools facing down in your bag and away from the zipper coils.

Don’t Overstuff the Bag

Overstuffing your tool bag will very likely cause significant stress on the zippers that is above and beyond what the bag was built for and will eventually cause the zipper(s) to separate. If you have to work hard to close your zipper(s), your tool bag is most likely overstuffed…proceed with caution!

Really love this bag. Use for AV/Networking custom integration business. Bag is extremely sturdy, very well organized and thoughtfully laid out. Holds everything I need to have with me at ready access with tools on one side, testers and other things on the other, and laptop or files safely in the middle. I doubt there is a better bag made. Not cheap, but the quality makes it a good value.

    Job: ISP/Networking Field Tech

I will give a 100% honest review about this bag with Pro’s / Con’s and ill even answer some questions you may have that, like myself was not able to find anywhere else until i bought this bag. Common Questions / Answers posted below. You may also find photos and a non verbal video review on amazon as well that i posted.

This is a great bag to put simply. I have had a few other bags in my line of work and i could never seem to find the right one for my nitch in the field. However this one is finally the closest bag i can find that’s comes close to perfect. Needing to find a bag that can hold my necessity, misc tools & laptop, this seals the deal. Finding myself swapping fleet trucks or needing equipment to assist my team on tower work, this keeps everything together and I’m no longer worried if i forgot something.
I was worried about the price tag and if i would be wasting my money. I have to say when you are investing in tools & equipment its best to spend the extra money on quality vs a quick fix. And this bag is very very well built. Stable, strong, and a great warranty. Once you get your hands on it and feel it, its night and day on the quality vs other brands Ive tried threw the years.

    Common Questions:
Can this Bag support a Panasonic Tough Book?: Yes and No. This bag yes can support the common 3inch thick Panasonic Tough Book. However it will push the front panel forward to much where you will loose the ability to place some tools in the “business” end side of the bag. The 2.?inch thick thinner Panasonic Tough Book does fit very snug but you can still place your tools in the “Business” Side of the bag. Standard size laptops up to 17inch screens fit well with no problems.

Does the handle get in the way of the strap?: You will need to adjust the strap to be a little longer to avoid the handle being in your arm pit.

Can the Zippers be locked?: Yes, if you are worried about people getting into your bag, this bag has the ability to put small pad locks to secure your bag from being opened.

Business Cards?: 3 and half inch wide business cards do not fit. You will need to be the size of 3inches or less. Besides the front clear pocket to place information there is also a slot behind to be able to put multiple business cards.

    Amazing bag.
HVAC tech using this bag daily for 4 years now. Carries all my hand tools, meters, folding bar, and everything else I need besides my drills. I’ve had it out on rooftops in the snowy winter, or rainy spring days and the tools stay dry all day long. Lots of storage for most everything, hard shell bottom protects my more fragile tools and meters, and the warranty is second to none with service options for everyone. Buying a back pack for other hand tools and small service drills.

I love it. It is lighter then my old hard side tool case (that looks like a brief case), yet I have more tools in it, go figure. A few of my coworkers have now seen it and my impression is that they will be purchasing them as well. I would definitely recommend this case.

I do low-voltage cabling, networks, surveillance cameras, audio/video and home automation installs and service. After doing a lot of research I settled on the XLT as my primary toolbag to compliment my ToughBuilt Cliptech tool pouch which I use to carry the small number of tools I keep on my belt during a job.

My goal was to only bring my XLT and my belt pouch onto a job site job for 80-90% of the work I do. I have only had the XLT for about a month but it has worked out perfectly so far.
Here is a summary of the what I like about the XLT:
    * I don’t need to carry a separate laptop case as my Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon and charger fit perfectly in the middle padded pocket with enough room left over for my Brady BMP-21 labeler.
    * The XLT is perfectly organized and compartmentalized to fit my whole complement of most-used tools with a little rooms to spare. Every item has convenient place to store and there is very little wasted space. Every detail seems very well thought out.
    * With the sides zipped open I can easily find and access all of my tools and testers and the bag sits up firmly on its base like it should.
    * The XLT is built like the proverbial brick s***house which is a good thing because I can be tough on my tools and toolbags. The materials are first-rate and the construction is solid. This is a good thing because it will probably weight in at 50-60 lbs or more when its fully loaded. Even fully loaded its very easy to carry even by the handle, which is very well designed.

This bag was not cheap but it should save me time and will hopefully outlast me :).
    Highly recommended.

I own a few businesses in the blinds/shades/shutters niche, and on any given day I could start my day installing custom plantation shutters, then quoting projects, then finish with a presentation for a $100k project…and this bag allows me to be absolutely prepared for all of it. Ive had it for a year at least, and it’s in as good of shape today as it was the day I bought it. I love this bag. It’s my baby.

Bought this bag so I could carry my tools and laptop all in one bag.. As a printer repair tech for sharp electronics I have found this bag to be a great asset to my everyday job. It holds plenty of tools my laptop and then some.
The bag is built very well seems very solid and though they are pricy I feel that a zero downtime,5 year warranty is worth its weight in gold. (Even though I may never need it)
The zippers are super strong plenty of pockets the latch that holds the shoulder strap is great love that feature you can tell a lot of thought went into making this bag I would recommend it to anyone

I have only had this bag for about a month now but I absolutely love it. I am industrial maintenance supervisor and have struggled through the years with bags that just don’t work. It holds all of my essential tools as well as my laptop with no problems. I’m sure that I’ll be adding to my Veto collection in the near future.

This bag does it all. As an electrician, I have an enormous amount of hand tools. This holds a vast majority of them. Screwdrivers, pliers, cutters, tape measurers, pens, markers, knives, ratchet set, plug tester, volt tick, all on one side. Multi-meter and amp meter, distance meter on the other. And as a business owner, I can tote my laptop in the protected middle compartment. Very awesome, robust, durable, reliable tote! I have owned Husky, Kuny, Klein, and Greenlee, can’t imagine having to go back.

I love this bag. I am an HVAC service technician and this bag has changed the way I run my calls.
I now carry all my basic hand tools needed to troubleshoot a furnace or AC in one side of the bag, while in the other side I have all my business cards, pamphlets, paperwork etc. My laptop and paper goes in the top slot, which has dramatically cut down on my trips to my truck.
Bag looks great, professional and always gets remarks from homeowners. Excellent work on this one.

This is by far the best tool bag I’ve ever used. I used to have to carry multiple bags and cases to the job site but now I only need one because everything I could possibly need and more fits easily into this one single bag. The quality of the material is top notch and I don’t expect that I will ever need to buy another one anytime soon.

Bag pays for itself in time
Bag pays for itself in time saved searching for tools. This thing is a beast. Well made, rugged, engineered with functionality in mind and looks great to boot. Im an electrician and will tell you can hold 40 to 50 lbs easily. I try to limit it to 35 lbs as the bag alone weighs 9 lbs. On the plus side, vertical storage is the way to go. Like most, I have my EDC on one side and my low voltage tools on the back side. Not sure why some reviwers complain, for instance my LV side holds Klein multimeter, circuit tester, set of Wera insulated drivers, bag w/ leads, coax compression crimper, rotostripper, punch down tool and more. Center section is great for 4 or five medium size tools. I use that for 4×6 parts box, 50′ fishtape, gloves and tape measure. One thing I’ve noticed, the fold down snaps on main side work well once broken in if you limit what you put in external pockets. Several owners have modified pockets by subdividing with chicago bolts, I’m considering this but hesitant to ruin padding on laptop area. Without a doubt would recommend, would buy again, and wish I had it years ago. Last note if you never move your tools, the Huskys and generic bags will do, if your serious about your tools Veto is the only way to go!

This bag isn’t half bad. The “tech” side of the bag is useless. pockets are too small for anything except a miniature meter. The bag would be way better if both sides had pockets like the tech XL. A hacksaw fits quite nice in the laptop pocket however.

So far, the QUALITY for its purpose is exceptional. I have not yet put it to the test of the abuse it has yet to look forward to, but wanted to answer this “review” request before it got buried and forgotten in my email inbox.

The VPP SERVICE has been similarly spectacular. Product delivered quickly, Emails answered promptly, Mr. Brouard even fired me a note from his phone at one point while in transit to reply to a passing comment I sent in. Simply unheard of.

PRICE…wwwelllll, let’s just say I chose to pick the first two! “Buy Right Pay Once.” Yes, it is many times more expensive than something else with a similar function “to carry your crap around” – but from what I’ve seen, there could be a reason for that. I don’t even want to know what the profit margin is on this thing (don’t care) but I’m happy to pay a premium price for something which will do a premium job without pissing me off or wasting my time!

So far, my new “Veto Pro Pac XLT” seems to fit the bill!

I have been a plumbing and
I have been a plumbing and heating engineer for 20 years, and have used various tool bags and boxes and technicians boxes with limited success. The technicians boxes were best but only lasted a short time before clasps broke or tool pouches came away from the box.
After searching online, I decided to try the Veto bags and bought an XL for general tools and an XLT for technical gear (flue gas analyser and printer, multimeter etc), and iPad and phone. I bring the XLT in from the van overnight to protect these expensive items which all fit in perfectly along with my service tools, and are to hand when carrying out servicing or breakdown work.
I also bought the XL contractor bag which has all the other tools which are used daily for installation work, allowing quick and easy access to your tools and not having to rummage through a box to locate the tool you require.
The bags have made life a lot easier and had an unexpected bonus, several clients have commented how professional the bags look.
My only regret is that I didn’t buy these earlier!

Well i am a oil heating engineer and have used many tool boxes and bags, i am very fussy with all things and do load of research and read reviews. I can say that this is the Daddy of all tool bags, it is well made and takes load of punishment, i have had a zip fail at about 15 months old and the whole bag was replaced with no questions asked. to look after the zip i use zip lube works a treat. this bag is pricy but well worth it, i will buy this bag if needed again. Highly Recommended.

Got mine about a month ago
Got mine about a month ago and began using it instantly as a daily laptop and tool bag to transport my helix laptop and Fluke connects meters back and forth to work and home it protects my equipment better than any bag I have ever had before I love it and believe it will last forever the way I am using it.

  22. John K

I am only a first year
I am only a first year instrument technician apprentice, so I do not yet have a large selection of tools, but I found when jumping into different trucks each day that it was difficult to keep track of my tools. With a couple different bags, it was often the case that I was forgetting something. Sometimes there was no room in the truck for be to set my tool bags upright, so they lay on their side and dumped their contents.

This bag allows me to keep most of my tools in a single bag, with plenty of room for expansion. When jumping from one truck to another, all I need to do is grab a single bag, which can be placed anywhere (as long as it does not sit on anything fragile) and will keep all of my tools in place.

They are not cheap, but if my option is to buy a bag that will keep my tools together and in decent shape vs. buying new tools because I have lost them, then I expect that this bag will pay for itself many times over.

They always told me I was
They always told me I was hard on equipment. My Dad, teachers, Sargents, employers…well just about everyone. My tools and tech manuals are always worn and falling apart because they are used hard, well and often. It has been hard for me to find a tool bag and a laptop bag for use in the field and in all types of Northeast weather. With the XLT, I found both in one. So far the bag and been dropped, snowed on, rained on and survived the many tossing I gave it moving if from place to place, vehicle to vehicle and job to job. I used to have to keep several bags; tool bag, laptop case, cheat sheet manual, crimping kit, etc but now all I need is the one. “Is that all your taking?” people ask me when they see me. “Yep, if I have this XLT, I have everything I need right inside.”

On top of all that when I bring it in the office after it being abused for so long the first thing someone always says to me is “Hey, did you get a new bag?”. “Nope, it just takes beating and does the job.” That’s the XLT. You save money on getting just one bag and it will last forever.

    Thanks Veto Pro Pac!!!

I do computer tech work and
I do computer tech work and had been looking for a bag that either:
    a) Didn’t break my tools
    b) Was strong enough to hold up to computer repair tools.

A lot of my tools have tiny tips that pierce/cut through the holders and fabrics of my backpacks, or because some electronics are just a bit of plastic protecting a circuit board, when I packed up or closed one of my existing bags, it would break it.

Love the Veto Pro Pac XLT. It’s held up. Kept the bottom dry of my bag when I had to work on pulling hardware out of water damage situations. I’ve not lost any probes or pryers because they’ve cut their way through. The center pouch works great for a laptop & iPad, but when I don’t need to bring those, it holds a lot of cables and other components. I love this bag.

This bag is awesome!! I’ve owned this bag for over a year and love it the size is perfect I can fit all my special tools as well as all my normal tools and everything has a nice and neat spot everything’s easy to take out, easy to put back. I’m an appliance tech so I’m in and out of houses all the time and I find it pretty easy to move around in tight spaces and I don’t have to run back and forth to the van to get tools. I can carry everything with me. Bravo veto pro you have really designed a great practical bag and I rate it a 10 outta 10.
