“HOLY SMOKES WHAT A BAG. I had many bags from other brands over the years, all these tool bags just didn’t meet my needs. They kept falling apart. Saw a guy with a Veto, and immediately was asking "Hey, who makes that tool bag?” Veto, he answered. Now, he expressed they were “more expensive." This was around 15 years ago...and I still have that bag. An XL Extra Large tool bag. I love it. It’s the only bag that’s held up.” - David H. (Locksmith)

Additional Information

Veto Pro Pac Tool Bags Product Care and Maintenance

Keep the Zippers Clean & Lubricated

Over time, dirt and grit will “clog” the zipper coils preventing them from staying closed. To keep this from happening, clean and lubricate your zippers twice a year (more often if you work on a job site with a high amount of airborne debris). To clean the coils: Scrub them with soapy water; a tooth brush works very well. After scrubbing the coils, blow them out with an air hose to dislodge any other fine grit that didn’t dislodge with the brush. To lubricate the coils: Apply a silicone spray, beeswax or a zipper lubricant.

Protect the Zippers From Sharp Objects and/or Excessive Heat

Any sharp object or heat source is capable of permanently damaging the zippers. Once a zipper coil is cut or singed the zipper will not function and in most cases is not repairable. Most of the cut zipper coils we see are the result of sharp tools stored inside the bag with the sharp side facing up. Make sure to keep the sharp edges of your tools facing down in your bag and away from the zipper coils.

Don’t Overstuff the Bag

Overstuffing your tool bag will very likely cause significant stress on the zippers that is above and beyond what the bag was built for and will eventually cause the zipper(s) to separate. If you have to work hard to close your zipper(s), your tool bag is most likely overstuffed… proceed with caution!

Long term review . Bought the bag the year it launched . 11yrs now.
HVAC tech. Lining up my tools on the edge of the roof or swinging it from my shoulder on the ledge. It’s fallen 3 times fully loaded from 20″ and held up without any damage expect some scuffs.
This bag is tough as nails.
I’ve gotten other brands since cause I’m notorious for o reloading every bag I’ve owned so I’d try smaller ones over the years. They always rip or zipper breaks and I come back to old faithfull.
I’ve purchased recently the smaller LC version, Ten years after first Veto purchase. Quality has not wavered . Great bag just as strong and reliable as ever.
That toughness comes with a little weight of it own. So if you really loaded up. It’s gets a little heavy. But no other bag in 11 yrs has stood up to the abuse these products have.

I can’t say I wasn’t worried at first for the price, but let me tell u this is the first time in 20 years as a handyman that all of my essential tools are well organized in one bag, I’ve worked with a lot of other brands but this one is the BEST!!! Can’t recommend it enough.

Love this bag! I was tired of digging through my tool bag to find a certain tool only to realize that the tool wasnt in the bag. Ive been plumbing for over 35 years and in the course of that time have tried every available option for storing my tools. I first looked at the Veto bag and thought that it was a great idea, but am i willing to spend that kind of dough on a tool bag? So i made the mistake of trying something similar for less money. Big mistake , my wife has always told me “he who buy cheap, buys twice” So i picked up the CLC 18 inch bag for 1/2 the price of the Veto . Put all my tools into the bag and breathed a sign of relief as now i could see everything. Two weeks later the bag started to sag to the least heavy side. So i bit the bullet and picked up this bag . I could tell right away that this thing was a beast, solid and very well built. I moved into the Veto bag right away and was very happy with the amount of room i had and there is even some room in front of all the pockets which allowed me to add some more stuff , not a big space but a space never the less, and as you know in all tool bags and boxes space is at a premium. The sagging issue i had with the other bag is non existent this bag . This is the best plumbing bag period!

This a great Tool Bag! I bought my first one more than 10 years ago. A couple of years in had zipper problems and they replaced it. No down time. The warranty was appreciated and as advertised when I needed it. I work on coin operated amusement equipment. After 10 years of being hauled into Bars, Arcades, Basements and Warehouses it was time for a new one. I’m so grateful they kept the same design and layout. Same tool in the same spot made the transfer simple. This Old Dog didn’t have to learn any new tricks. Very versatile, the bag can be set on the floor, a chair, a barstool or any flat surface for convenience. Shoulder strap gives you a free hand for doors. Thanks Veto for many years of organization.

    Once you start putting tools
Once you start putting tools in, then you start organizing, deciding what’s bag worthy. There’s room on top of things on the bottom of the bag. It comes with a shoulder strap, you’re gonna need it.

Got a friend who bought the tech back pack a year or so ago which got me looking. In a local tool shop last month and stumbled across the xl and knew I was buying it. I tried all my tools (electrician) and they fitted perfectly. Without any doubt this is the best tool bag I’ve ever had and I have tried nearly all of them. Customer for life! Thanks

Just in tools that don’t get
Just in tools that don’t get left behind this bag has payed for itself several times over. A place for everything and everything in its place. At a quick glance I can see oops my 1/4″ long handle nut driver is missing. Wait I didn’t use the long handle driver this job. Someone “borrowed” it! Which one of you wanker butt #%€+?< borrowed my driver. With any other tool bag I would have walked out and some burger flipper would have one nice 1/4" long handle nut driver.

Great tool bag but on my 3rd one due to zipper failure!!! In 5 yrs !! No tradesman can afford losing tools due to a faulty product that is not covered by a warranty!! FIX IT OR FUCK IT!! Cost me money & aggravation due to lost tools in an underground mine!!!!!

I really can’t say much about
I really can’t say much about the durability of the bag yet, as I just purchased it; however, I can say something about the functionality and design. All my tools are vertically arranged now, which is great!! My two Bosch drills fit like gloves in the bag, and I can actually see what all I have in the bag. Up to now, my tools lay in a tool bag completely horizontal. Now, I can see exactly what I need and where it is. The time factor involved in being able to see your tools really isn’t that important admittedly; however, being able to see what you have in a bigger bag in order to move selected tools for a specific job into a smaller bag is great. I have a not inconsiderable amount of tools and it’s to be able to know what you what you need. I’m really satisfied with the purchase and the investment. So much so, that I just got through placing an online order for the TP4 and the padded shoulder strap, sold separately.

This is my second XL Veto bag
This is my second XL Veto bag. The first one was really nice at first but it wasn’t as tough as they make it out to be. After using for about 1 1/2 years, most of the lower pouches sag to the point it’s difficult to get small tools into them. But the biggest disappointment are the zippers. I lubed them with silicone spray on a regular basis but after about 30 months the zippers separated on both side of the bag. Once that happened it’s all over, no more closing the sides up. Hopefully this second one will hold up better. Time will tell. Other than the zipper issue the bag is very user friendly and probably the best bag I’ve had.

I am a service tech that
I am a service tech that travels a lot for work. I have tried several different options for my hand tools when it comes time to flying, but have never been very happy with what I’ve had. A couple tool bags were good for flying, but a pain to actually work out of while at the job site. Trying to fly with my regular tool bag (easier to work out of on site) stuffed in my suitcase ended up ruining my suitcase. And with that option I was limited to how many tools I could pack to stay under 50#. This is the first tool bag I have had that is just as easy to fly with as it is to work out of while on site. With baggage handlers being as rough as they are, I have not had any issues with tools being out of their places after flying. I carry #40 of tools in my bag, and it is still fairly comfortable to haul around the airport or job site. I’ve got nothing bad to say about this bag, and look forward to using it for years to come!

    Major change was the
Major change was the strategic lowering of all the interior pockets on both sides of the new XL bag. On my old XL bag, long screwdrivers, pilot bits and a pry bar extended into the zipper area and made the zipper on each side difficult to close around these tools. This inconvenience led me to only partially close the zippers which eventually led to a zipper failure on one side of the old bag.

With the new XL “lowered pocket” design, the zippers can be completely closed without long tools affecting the closing operation. Being able to completely close the zippers after each job will eliminate the possibility of hand tools falling out of the bag and should extend the life of the zippers.

If you are a professional, the new Veto XL is for you!

great tool bag! The one I have now is a warranty replacement. I used the ‘no downtime’ replacement process cause I cannot work without this bag! great warranty coverage.

Love being able to zip this bag closed, sometimes I have to use a quad to access a generator site, so I strap this bag on the front of the quad and don’t worry about losing tools!

Lots of room for tools and test equipment, easy to organize. I wouldn’t go back to any of the bags I wore out over the last 22 years.

This XL bag is the best for organization and access! Thanks for a great product!!

    Honestly, this bag is just
Honestly, this bag is just awesome. Compared to all the other brands I looked at you cant seriously compare any of them to my XL. So well made and practical. When fully loaded its actually very comfortable to lift and move. Not cheap for sure but in life you get what you pay for. Im a joiner in Scotland and was previously using a Festool box for storing and transporting my tools. I was really sick and tired of raking through the box looking for my tools. This meant that some of your tools may have been left on the floor when not getting used which sometimes was not ideal depending on the site conditions. Love the velcro handle strap for keeping the shoulder strap off the floor. So simple but so effective. Also it was a real pain trying to get everything back in the box when i was finished for the day. Just costing me so much time. Now, I pop the zips back and can see all my tools at a glance. Bag is so well laid out inside with a great mix of big and small slots for your tools. For those reviewers who said they were not big enough, i say your talking nonsense. Plenty of room. Shame we cant add photos to the review and i could prove it. Tools are never on the floor now and you can see at a glance whats missing when your packing up. One half of the bag has the tools i use every day. Other half has two estwing hammers and other tools used occasionally plus a cordless drill.I could get even more tools in the bag if need be. Bag can be left on the floor even in the wet due to heavy duty construction. Recent job i was on was pretty dirty and extremely dusty. Bag ended up with some serious dust on it. I just kept the bag zipped up and the inside of it remained spotless clean along with my tools. After getting nearly two weeks worth of heavy dust i simply washed the bag down with a wet cloth and dried it and it looks brand new again like it has just been delivered. I genuinely believe this bag is going to cost me nothing as the amount of time it is saving me will soon pay for the bag itself. Time is money as they say and I am saving plenty of time thanks to this fantastic bag. I have also been surprised by how professional it looks from a customer perspective. I never thought of that but the customers are even commenting on the bag especially ones with a trade or engineering background. If your thinking of buying this bag and the cost is putting you off stop messing about and buy one you wont regret it. Add in the fantastic guarantee that comes with it and you have nothing to loose but everything to gain. Im a very happy customer for sure. Cheers.

    Hands down best bag ever.
Hands down best bag ever. Never been so organized in my life. No more time spent digging in the bottom of the tool bag. Three bags of tools went into this bag and I still have room for more tools.

It is the perfect grab and go
It is the perfect grab and go bag. It holds all the important tools in an easy to get to configuration. It’s easy to put the tools away so they will be organized for the next time. Saves trips to the truck for the forgotten tool. The cargo tote is next for the power tools.

When I first came across this
When I first came across this bag, I got discouraged talking to a veto pro employee telling me there bags are not for plumbers. They were designed for tech service guys. I bought a veto pro pack bulk carrying tote and left the trade show. Two years later I needed a new bag and decided to purchase the XL bag. This is the best tool bags I have ever bought. I love to be organized and this bag covers that issue. I had the bag for about two months now, and I look forward to using it every day. There is no other bag out there that is built stronger, more organized, and comfortable to use for ALL trades. I wish it was American made.

I saw these Bags from other
I saw these Bags from other Guys, and was sceptical on how it would work for me.. After a great deal of research, I decided to take the Plunge and opt for the Veto XL.. I am a Carpenter in the UK, and do a lot of Interior reforms and Kitchen Installs.. Traditionally Ive used various forms of tools boxes, and with these you can obviously get a lot of stuff in, but have to turf a lot out to find what you want… I like the zipper sides of the XL, as it keeps prying eyes out when on a Job-site, and also keeps the rain off my tools if we get caught out.. When initially loading the bag up, i had almost convinced myself that it wasn’t going to work out for me.. However, what I found was that it doesn’t hold as much stuff as my old box, but in essence, all that isn’t in my Pro Pac XL, is all the toot that i never really used.. Sure, I had to upgrade certain screwdriver bits to suit the bag and how the pockets work, but in essence, al the too are laid out for me to see, without having to unload a box to find what I want. This in turn saves time, which basically earns me more money. I am so impressed with the quality, that I have already invested in the MB pouch, the TP3 and the Cargo Tote.. Only thing I would like to see on the XL is tape measure clips each end of the bag (to hold both my MB and TP3, and for these to be about an inch higher up the bag. Also if there was an external loop/holder to hold my hammer….

    Just completed my second
Just completed my second purchase of the XL bag. This was a defensive move on my part. Since purchasing my first one, my father has “borrowed” it relentlessly. During one period, he had it for 6 consecutive weekends. Enough is enough, so I got him his own XL for his birthday. I love this bag and can’t wait to get re-acquainted with it. Hopefully most of my beloved tools are still in it.

  27. HVAC Tech

This would be a five star bag
This would be a five star bag if it utilized the strap with the clip instead of Velcro. I will probably buy the strap soon but the Velcro should be abandoned, it doesn’t work very well at all. Other than that, hands down the most perfect bag (in my opinion) for what I do, many people told me I was crazy for spending this much on a tool bag but I just can’t imagine doing my job without it. I don’t even have to see in my bag to grab the right tool.

Make sure you register the warranty though because I didn’t do it on my first bag and the zipper broke within 3 years and I was screwed. When I bought the second I registered it right away and made extra copies of everything so this shall not happen again. But I will probably fix the old bag, if the zipper didn’t break this bag would probably last 15 years or more. Maybe the zipper should be metal… just a thought.

  28. Billbo

    Like everything these days,
Like everything these days, not built like it used to be. First one lasted 7 years, this one had a ripped shoulder strap and nfg zippers on both sides in less than 12 months. Pro pac lick my sac, won’t get another dime from me.

  29. Notta

I do not like having a tool
I do not like having a tool bag without zippers. I prefer to have my tools out of site of thieves. However, I had yet to find a tool bag that lasted more a year before the zipper would give out, making it useless. I finally decided to drop the coin on a veto pro-pac because of their 5 year warranty. Was told by the retailer where I bought it that it was a no questions asked warranty. My zipper gave out in two years of normal use. Granted, that lasted longer than other bags, but this bag cost over $200. When I go to get a warranty claim on my bag, guess what veto doesn’t cover? Zippers! Won’t ever buy another pro pak. And I suggest that they have their retailers brush up on their warranty conditions.

  30. BIG JAY

I really liked my old bag
I really liked my old bag until it fell apart after a years use. one thing that did annoy me was that I had to practically empty it to find what I wanted. my new veto pac xl is so much better. every tool has a place meaning no more rummaging for tools. quality looks like it will stand the test of time. I would have liked it better with different size pockets in one side instead of the same on both sides. great bag though, very happy.

I have had mine for the past 3 years and the zippers are starting to fall apart. I have a few buddies who have the same model and that is their only complaint as well. I called veto and they said that it is not covered under warranty and I will have to pay to get it fixed. Other than that,I use it everyday and plan to replace it with the exact same one when this one wears out.

I like the bag a lot. Its a pleasure to have all my tools readily available instead of tossed into the typical home depot bag. I am disappointed in the fact that it is made in China. Lots of hype about a Norwalk company and no mention of it being made in china until I looked at the label on the inside of the bag. A tool bag designed for the American worker should be made by American workers.

this is my second bag, I bought the first one on ebay used and it worked very well and looked like new still, I have an allowance from work to buy annually so I bought a new bag this time, not much more in cost. I’ve tried other bags, Klein for one and didn’t like the low height, I like the tall Tech XL because I can stand up my ball peen hammer and crescent wrenches etc. Some work areas get hit with water, I like the hard plastic bottom that keeps my tools dry. I would buy it again.

Quality is NOT EVEN CLOSE to
Quality is NOT EVEN CLOSE to the previous XL version that I own.

I still remember watching videos of the Veto Pro Pac before I bought it 5 years ago. Stuffed with tools it gets thrown in the back of a truck and all tools stay in place. I purchased the XL just over 5 years ago and that’s exactly how GREAT this bag has worked.

5 years later stuffed with tools the zippers just started to give out.

So, I ordered another XL since my old one was just out of warranty.

What a DISAPPOINTMENT how the QUALITY of the material being used now has dropped.

The new one I received has the same tools in the same place as my last bag, yet I can’t even set it in the gangbox without tools completely getting out of place. Inside pockets are the same size, but are looser due to inferior material being used. The worst part with the new version is having to dig to find tools like you just tossed them into a bucket.

Outside my old model still has the same perfect shape as in the picture, still as firm as when it was new. The new model feels softer and cheaper and bulges out as if it were a cheap duffle bag.

Not only will I will no longer recommend Veto Pro Pac bags to coworkers due to the inferior quality they now possess, but I will recommend against getting one.

As a Electrician on the UK I met a fellow Electrician On a Job that had a Veto XL Tool Bag when he told me the price I nearly passed out however having had a look at his bag and seeing how well it was organised and what it could carry I had to have one myself. Having purchased cheaper tool boxes and bags in the past which don’t last long I decided to invest in a Veto XL Tool Bag the Price and quality to the bag is far superior to anything else on the market and makes finding the right tool for the job quick and easy. Nothing falls out the bag and you don’t have to spend ages finding the right tool for the job in the bottom of the tool bag, which was often the case with other tool boxes/bags I have purchased in the past. I am a customer for life!
Now working on a Railway Station I have had a number of colleagues look at my bag and several of them have purchased as well with another two who want two. The bag sells itself. One Small thing for improvement the small strap provided for carrying insulation tape on the bag could be a little longer so that I can carry all the colours of tape I need. Other than that a Top Quality Bag.

Nice work Veto. I’m a customer for life.
